This quilt was made for Vernon in 2006 after I retired, and shows Vernon's interests and his life. I machine embroidered various important dates on the quilt such as his Birth, February 6, 1932 in a Cotton Field, three miles West of Charlie, TX where his Grandparents lived. Charlie is 20 miles Northeast of Wichita Falls. I included in this Quilt his beloved dog, Ginger, his passion for flying, his interest in square dancing (in case you wonder where I am, I'm the cute little redhead dancing with the old guy), and his love of golf. The quilt also reveals that he worked in the Aviation Industry for Braniff, Piedmont and USAir for forty plus years. The quilt shows his Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Finance from UTD in 2001, after he retired in 1997, and interesting to note,
FIFTY YEARS AFTER HIGH SCHOOL!
This label on the back left hand corner of the quilt speaks for itself.
